Police hope the nationwide appeal will lead to a breakthrough in the investigation into Alan Wood's murder.

Mr Wood, 50, was found dead at his home in Main Road, Lound, on Saturday, October 24.

In the programme, to be broadcast at 9pm, his mother Maureen talks about the moment police told her that her son had been murdered and her struggle to come to terms with his death.

Inquiries have shown that a suspect used Mr Wood's bank cards at cash machines in Stamford and Bourne following his death but they have so far been unable to trace the man.

Police will be in Lound, Little Bytham and Bourne tomorrow morning to answer any questions people have following the broadcast and to offer reassurance. They will also be at the market in Stamford on Friday.
