A schoolgirl tackled a marathon row to raise funds for her future travels.

Natalie Hall, 15, from Nene Crescent, Oakham, rowed 34km in under four hours at Catmose Sports Centre on Sunday.

Natalie, a Year 10 pupil at Catmose College, took on the challenge to raise funds for her trip to Ghana. She is visiting the African country, along with fellow pupils and community project organisation Venture Force, to help build on orphanage.

Her mum Anne was very proud of her Natalie’s efforts.

She said: “People have been really quite impressed with how far she rowed.

“She did really well and I’m proud of her.”

The row was one of many fundraising events that have been organised by pupils.
