Junior football club Royce Rangers is inviting anyone associated with it to help them celebrate their 40 year anniversary.

The club was founded in 1974 at the Royce Playing Fields, in Oakham, from where it took its name.

Chairman Chris Green, said: “All supporters, followers and families of players both old and new are invited to come along and enjoy this great landmark.

“We hope that hundreds of past and present Royce rangers can come and share the stories and friendships of their playing days at the club.”

The FA Community Status club, situated at The Showground, off Barleythorpe Road, has around 250 players, both boys and girls, aged between five and 16 years. It is one of the largest youth organisations in the Midlands and the only football club in Rutland for young people.

Celebrations start at 11am on Saturday, May 17 when the club will also bid farewell to their current pitches as they will be moving to the showground near the Oakham bypass. Visit www.clubwebsite.co.uk/roycerangersfc.
