Shoppers can win a Dickensian winter scene in a Christmas charity raffle.

A display of knitted mice in the style of A Christmas Carol is currently on display at Altered Images Clothing, in Mill Street, Oakham.

Knitted with great care by Pauline Dawson, the scene will be raffled on December 20. Customers can buy tickets for £1 each and all money raised will go to the Karen Ball Fund, which provides medical equipment, care and help to seriously-ill people in Rutland and their carers.

Shop owner Chris Menzies said: “The reaction so far has been wonderful. We always get loads of people looking in the window and we have sold loads of tickets already.

“The scene is so cute and people love it.

“Each figure took three hours just to knit so a lot of work has gone in to the whole display.”
