A man from Oakham has been given a two year anti-social behaviour order to stop him harassing women.

Edward Jones, 37, of Derwent Drive, was given the order, as well as a six-month conditional discharge, at Loughborough Magistrates Court on January 23 after pleading guilty to harassment.

The conditions of his Asbo state he is not to solicit any woman from a car or solicit or repeatedly approach any woman who has indicated that she does not wish for any such contact to approach or take place.

PC Joe Lloyd said: “I hope the Asbo will reassure women living in Oakham that they no longer need to fear harassment from Edward Jones.

“Edward has not hurt anyone but he is known to approach women offering to help but doesn’t go away when asked. This Asbo is designed to stop him behaving in this manner.”
