A teenage singer will have a special treat on her 18th birthday as she performs on stage at one of the country’s most prestigious theatres.

Emma Webber, 17, from Uppingham, will sing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London on Sunday, December 8.

Emma is a member of Stamford-based Wildcats Academy and will perform along her fellow students, and the younger West End Wildcats group.

She said: “Being back to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre with my brilliant college group is amazing.

“Also, to be performing a solo there on my 18th birthday is a dream come true.

“To perform on the stage of my favourite musical, Phantom of the Opera, is the best birthday present I could have.”

Wildcats owner Caz Dolby added: “It is fantastic that local young people are having the opportunity to take part in performances in such prestigious venues such as Her Majesty’s Theatre.

“We try to make sure that our post-16 academy courses offer real life experience of being on a stage – and this performance forms part of the students’ assessed work.

“Everyone is looking forward to the show and cannot wait to perform.”
