Plan to build waste site in Cottesmore gets the go-ahead

A plan to build a waste site to reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill has been approved.

Rutland County Council’s waste contractors FCC Environment (UK) has been given permission to build the 432 sq waste transfer station behind the tip in Burley Road, Cottesmore.

The council is also launching a number plate recognition system next year so people visiting the tips in Cottesmore and North Luffenham will no longer need a paper permit.
