A youth group will put on a packed programme of summer holiday activities.

Teenzone, based a Christ Church in Green Lane, Stamford, will offer a range of opportunities for youngsters over the six-week holiday.

Those aged nine to 12 will be able to go on trips to Tallington Lakes and try out kayaking, toboganning and raft building for just £2.50. Teenzone is also offering trips to Twinlakes Theme Park, Laserforce, Woburn Safari Park and the National Space Centre for the same price.

For those aged above 12 the group will offer the opportunity to visit London, go camping and ice skating. These trips will involve some planning by the youngsters, allowing them to learn while they have fun.

Teenzone has also planned a number of free outreach activities on the Recreation Ground in Stamford. The group’s catering trailer will be put into use near the skatepark every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. Every Wednesday the team from One Touch Football will also be there, offering jumpers for goalposts sessions.

Thursdays will include themed café sessions, giving young people the chance to experience a different culture every week. These sessions will cost 50p, are open to any age and will run for two hours in the evenings.

Youth work manager Ali Rigby will this year be supported by three young summer interns, George Dewson, Makayla Taplin and Matthew Kew.

People can download a brochure from website www.christchurchstamford.com/teenzone/summer14.
