A spate of thefts from cars in Bourne has caused police to launch a dedicated operation with increased patrols.
Police are also warning drivers in the area to take preventative measures to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
Thieves have been active in the Bourne area in the recent weeks.
On Monday night a vehicle in Tennyson Drive was broken into.
A thief got into the car, possibly through an unlocked door, and stole a sat nav and a phone charger.
An unlocked vehicle was entered and property stolen on Broadway Close, Bourne between Saturday and Sunday.
Over the weekend items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Sandown Drive in Elsea Park.
Between Wednesday and Thursday last week thieves broke into a vehicles in Larch Close, Cherry Holt Road and Ancaster Road.
Between Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5 unlocked vehicles parked in Lavender close, Willow Drive, Hazelwood Drive and Coggles Causeway were entered and property stolen.
Police say the cars being targeted are those with property left on display. Things like sat navs, smart phones, laptops and cash are being taken.
Police have warned that putting valuable items in a glove compartment is not good enough – thieves will smash windows and search glove compartments.
They advise drivers to remove all items from vehicles when they are left unattended.
