Youngsters were able to pick out a present for mum and dad at Ryhall Primary School’s Christmas market on Saturday.

Pupils went with their families to browse the stalls and take part in the games.

Children who wanted to buy a present for their parents were able to pick one in secret in a special room. They could then wrap it themselves to make it a surprise for their parents on Christmas Day.

The market was organised by The Friends of Ryhall Primary School.

Treasurer Sam Brompton said: “We had a really good turnout. Santa was very well received and all the children went to see him.

“We had a variety of stalls that parents and children could go and buy things from or play games at.”

The market raised about £700, which will pay for a trip for all the pupils to go and see a pantomime in January.
