Road shut at Deeping by tarmac spill

Traffic was diverted off the southbound carriageway of the A16 dual carriageway at Market Deeping because of a tar spillage on the road surface at a roundabout.

An emergency team from Lincolnshire Highways were called in to clear up the spill which delayed traffic for most of this morning.

Initial reports that the danger was caused by the road surface melting were incorrect.
