Rotary club donates to skin charity

Members of a rotary club have handed over funds raised at a sponsored walk along with other activities to charity this week.
Rotary club district governor Chris Chew, pictured above left, received a cheque for £500 from Rotary Club of Bourne St Peter president Mike Bailey.
The £500 will be donated to charity Debra, which is one of the district governor’s chosen charities for this year. Debra works on behalf of people in the UK with the genetic skin disease Epidermolysis Bullosa for which there is no known cure.
It is a rare skin disease in which the skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub causing painful, open wounds.
Mr Bailey said: “It is a lesser know charity but someone came to our club to talk about their work and we thought it was something well worth supporting.
“We hope the money can be put to good use.”
