More than 60 guests from care homes in Rutland were treated to a meal and theatre visit thanks to a fundraising group.

Rutland Lions hosted the special day which featured dinner at The Railway Inn in Station Road, Oakham, before a performance at Victoria Hall, in High Street, by the Rutland Arts Theatre Society. The day is an annual event organised by the Lions.

Guests with a variety of learning disabilities and their carers were welcomed by new landlord and landlady Shaun and Helen Jackson at the pub.

This was followed by a specially written performance by the society of Five Go Adventuring.

Lions president Paul Brook thanked society chairman Jackie Sellwood and others for their support of the event and presented her with a cheque for £300 for their hard work.
