Rutland pervert jailed for child sex offence

A would-be teacher from Rutland who told police his on-line attempts to corrupt a girl were simply to get "school experience" feedback has been jailed for 14 months.

Mark Little spent weeks bombarding the "youngster" with lurid emails explaining what he wanted to do to her and suggesting he even be allowed to tie her up.

He also performed a string of sex acts in front of a webcam, thinking she was watching, and then warned her "not to tell anyone or he would get into trouble".

But London's Southwark Crown Court heard his only audience was a member of Scotland Yard's anti-paedophile unit posing as a 13-year-old.

Adam King, prosecuting, said eventually the unsuspecting defendant suggested a meeting.

But when the coach he was hoping to catch to London proved to be full, the police decided to pay him a visit instead.

When arrested, Little, 35, of Derwent Drive, Oakham, who had been thinking of becoming a teacher, told officers he wanted to work with 11-16 age group.

He went on: "I wanted some feedback in respect of her experiences at school."

Little pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to incite a child to commit a sex act between April 3 and May 31 this year, and five of trying to cause a child to watch one.

Passing sentence Judge Andrew Goymer also imposed a five-year sexual offences prevention order banning him from accessing internet chatrooms and having unsupervised contact with children.
