Pupils who helped in the preparations for BRM day have been rewarded with a visit from a classic racing car.

The pupils from Mays House at Bourne Academy, named after the man behind BRM Raymond Mays, did their bit to help to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of BRM in Bourne in October, by packing 10,000 souvenir bags which were sold on the day.

As a reward it was arranged by the organisers to bring a BRM racing car onto school premises this month.

Head of Mays House Sally Sutcliffe said: “I’m immensely proud of all my students and the form tutors who co-ordinated and supported them to achieve this challenge.”

The BRM Day committee donated £30,000 raised from the day to charity last week.
