Border force agents picked up six people alleged to have been in the country illegally.
Police were called to reports of a group of men acting suspiciously in Main Road, Tallington at about 2pm yesterday (Sunday). Six people were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
The Home Office was called and officers found two of the group were from Syria, two from Afghanistan, one from India and one from Kuwait.
The Syrian and Afghan nationals were found to be minors and passed into the care of social services. The others have been transferred to immigration detention while their cases are considered.
A Home Office spokesman said: “Where someone is found to have no legal right to remain in the UK we will take action to remove them.”
