Slideshow: Damp but not down at the Deeping Agricultural Show
TORRENTIAL weather did not stop the fun at an annual agricultural show at the weekend.
The 64th Deeping Agricultural Show and Country fair proved to be a success despite the heavy rain.
The two-day event was well attended on Saturday, with a few die-hard fans turning out on Sunday torriential storms.
Chairman Ian Allen said: "It was a success despite the weather and I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us.
"Saturday went very well and all of Sunday's entertainment went ahead despite the bad conditions."
The show offered something for everyone with attractions over the weekend including horse and pony events, vintage cars and tractors, brass bands and a gymkhana.
Visitors were also able to enjoy various demonstrations including spinning, basket weaving, painting, upholstery and sheep shearing.
There was an exhibition marquee with Women's Institute competitions, floral art, art, crafting and photography, along with trade stands and a shopping mall.
Other entertainment was provided by The British Driving Society, the City of Coventry Corps of Drums, the Kangaroos Gymnastic and trampoline display team, Cheshire Dog Display Team, the Arkliners line dancing, the Jelly Belly dancers and Deeping Gymnastics Club.
This year the event raised money for the Sue Ryder Care Hospice in Peterborough and Deeping Men's Group.
Mr Allen added: "At the moment we don't know how much we have raised but unfortunately I don't think it will be as much as previous years.
"We have a two-week rest now before we start planning next year's show."
