Special guests at Children's Centre open day
A CHILDREN'S centre opened its doors on Monday to give parents and dignatories the opportunity to see a new extension.
Bluecoat Children's Centre, which is based on the site of Bluecoat Primary School in Green Lane, Stamford, was given 30,000 from Lincolnshire County Council to build a conservatory.
The conservatory was open for use in September, but on Monday Stamford mayor Maureen Jalili and chairman of South Kesteven District Council Mike Exton joimed parents at an open day.
In the afternoon there were pirate and princess themed parties for the children.
Centre manager Fiona Railton said the extension would enable the centre to introduce new activites.
She said: "It will be used for different children's activites and for training courses for parents. We can just do a lot more now and we are absolutely thrilled.
"The open day went very well and the children particularly enjoyed the afternoon."
