Sponsor a jubilee oak tree to mark The Queen’s diamond jubilee
NOW is the time to register your interest in sponsoring an oak tree which will be planted to mark The Queen’s diamond jubilee this year.
The 60 “Jubilee Oaks for Oakham” project will be coordinated by the Oakham Town Partnership and has gained the support of the town and county councils.
Project co-ordinator Richard Adams, of Trent Road, Oakham, said: “The oak tree symbolises national pride and the acorn is also featured in the town and Rutland County Council coat of arms so planting oak trees seems to be a particularly appropriate way to commemorate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.”
To register e-mail oakhamtownpartnership@gmail.com or call Richard Adams on 01572 756706.
