Children were invited to make a special Mother’s Day gift at a Bourne charity shop on Wednesday.

Volunteers at St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice in North Street ran a day of cake decorating to raise some extra money for the charity and get more people into the shop. Children decorated the cakes using, icing, sweets and other treats.

Retail manager Christine Beardwood said: “The children who came along really enjoyed it and went home with their treats for their mothers.”

The event raised about £30 for the charity.
