Stamford skatepark plan faces final planning obstacle
Work on a new skatepark could begin this summer after councillors were asked to approve a management plan.
Stamford Town Council’s application to build the park on The Rec was approved by South Kesteven District Council in October last year.
But as a condition of approval, councillors requested a detailed management plan to keep noise and anti-social behaviour to a minimum.
Stamford Skatepark Committee worked with the town council to come up with a plan which included strict hours of opening and a robust complaints procedure.
And the plan will finally be discussed by the district council on Tuesday, with council officers recommending it be approved.
Skatepark committee chairman Marc Stanier said: “The councillors were unanimous before when they went against officers’ recommendations and approved the skatepark so we are hoping they are 100 per cent behind us again.”
