Supermarket staff were even more “super” than usual as they dressed up to raise money for charity.

Employees at Tesco in High Street, Stamford, wore superhero costumes on Friday while collecting for Cancer Research UK.

A range of heroes - and some villains - could be seen in the store, including Batman, Supergirl and Mario.

Thanks to the donations of customers through the day, the store raised a total of £81 for the charity.

Checkout manager Mary Christian said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the customers who donated.”
