Swishing party goes down a storm

WOMEN swapped their outfits at a party in a bid to beat the credit crunch and raise money for charity.

Recrion, a career management company in St Mary’s Hill, Stamford, held the swishing party at its offices on Tuesday night.

Women brought along outfits to swap and everyone went away with five nearly-new items. Advice was also available from image consultant Susan Lawton.

A small entrance fee was charged and about 150 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Recrion director Katherine Wiid said the evening was a great success.

She said: “Everyone loved it and went away with new things and ideas from the image consultant. It was a good opportunity for local business women to meet and make new friends, as well as raise money for a good cause. I was very pleased with how it went.”

Any items that were left over at the end of the evening were donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care to be sold in charity shops.

Katherine is considering holding a similar event later in the year.
