Young golfers in Rutland are being urged to sign up for a charity golf tournament.
The British Heart Foundation’s Junior Golf Championship returns to the region with a qualifying round taking place at Cosby Golf Club in Leicester, on April 17.
The winners and top fundraising teams will go on to compete in a regional final at Oulton Hall in Leeds this summer.
Those who raise the most money will be in with a chance of meeting professional golfer and Ryder Cup hero Lee Westwood.
Teams are open to all junior golfers who hold a handicap and are aged between 11 and 18.
Players from Stoke Rochford Golf Club are celebrating raising £1,600 for the Woodland Trust, the club’s charity of the year. A total of 25 trees were donated by the Grantham-based charity.
