Teenager dies after falling from flat window in Oakham
A TEENAGER has died after falling from the window of a third floor flat in Oakham.
Police have confirmed that the 14-year-old died at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham this morning after the fall last night at the flats in The Sidings, Oakham.
An air ambulance and police were called to the scene at about 4.30pm yesterday.
The boy was airlifted to the Nottingham hospital and police have confirmed that he died this morning.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A Leicestershire police spokesman said: "Police were called to an address at The Sidings in Oakham, Rutland, at 4.32pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 after a boy, believed to be 14-years-old, was found in the back garden with serious injuries.
"He was taken by air ambulance to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham and has since died from his injuries.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner. Identification of the deceased will be released by the coroner."
