You may think the object pictured would be at home in a bath tub, but take a second look and you’ll see it’s a tomato.

The odd-looking fruit was discovered in the garden of Eric and Diane Hinchliffe, in Maple Gardens, Bourne.

The couple were highly amused by the duck/tomato before eating it in a salad for tea.

Eric, 78, said: “At first I thought it was just two tomatoes stuck together but when I looked at it closely I noticed it had a body, a tail, a beak and a collar.

“I grow a lot of vegetables, cucumbers and lettuce but I’ve never seen anything like this before. It was the highlight of the day.”

Diane, 68, added: “I took a picture because it just made me smile. It’s Donald Duck down to a tee.”
