A popular tourist attraction has been taken out of action for a year for an overhaul.

Thomas, the big blue engine, has been a hit with families visiting Nene Valley Railway at Wansford for a number of years. However, the engine is now undergoing its 10 year service.

The service will see work on the boiler, wheels and tanks, and also see a new coat of paint. The work will cost £150,000, and to help pay for it Nene Valley Railway has launched the Thomas Overhaul Appeal. For details or to help the appeal, visit the Thomas Overhaul Appeal website.
