Pupils from a primary school have generously got behind a Christmas tree present appeal.

About 90 parcels and presents were donated to the Rotary Club of Stamford St Martins’ Christmas Tree Appeal by pupils at Thurlby Community Primary School.

Year 1 class teacher Miss Janette Fytche, who coordinated the appeal, said: “We have run the appeal for the last few years here and the pupils really like it.”

“The appeal is a way to give something back to the community.”

The project supports families in difficult circumstances by providing gifts at Christmas for children, many of whom would otherwise receive nothing.
