Time capsule buried to celebrate a remarkable year at Willoughby School
Willoughby School in Bourne finalised its Olympic celebrations by burying a time capsule yesterday (Wednesday) filled with Olympic and school related items to be opened in 100 years time.
The capsule contained pictures of the two Olympic torches that visited the school, pictures from the torch passing through Bourne, information about the school in 2012 and newspaper cuttings from the opening ceremony.
Headteacher Adam Booker said: “We thought it appropriate that we should commemorate a brilliant year both for Team GB and our school. Our new sensory garden and sensory integration suite were opened this year and we had two Olympic torch visits and a pleasing Ofsted report.”
The capsule was created by engineer David Fox and inscribed by Geoff Lewis.
