Tourism committee needs your food and drink expertise

A FOOD and drink expert is needed to join Rutland's tourism team.

A FOOD and drink expert is needed to join Rutland's tourism team.

The Discover Rutland committee works to promote Rutland as a tourist destination.

County councillor Peter Jones (Con), who is responsible for tourism, said: "The committee is coming off the back of an exceptional first year. We have representatives from a wide variety of sectors including accommodation, retail, events, corporate and tourist attractions.

"Somebody from the food and drink sector would have a valuable input and I hope we get a good level of nominations."

The successful applicant will make sure that the views of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and other outlets across the county are represented.

Committee members need to be able to attend quarterly meetings, and feed back updates to the committee from their sector.

Nominations should be made by the end of December.
