Travel agents closes after becoming insolvent
A TRAVEL agents with branches in Bourne and Market Deeping has closed after the company became insolvent.
Deeping Travel, which has branches in the Burghley Centre, Bourne, and High Street, Market Deeping, and March in Cambridgeshire, closed yesterday after becoming insolvent on Monday.
The nine staff across the three branches, including director John Lawrence have been made redundant according to the accountants Bulley Davey, based in Peterborough.
Bulley Davey said the majority of customers holidays would be safe as they were secured by the travel association company ABTA.
The accountants said it would be contacting any customers who had booked a holiday with Deeping Travel within the next week to reassure them.
But said anyone worried should contact their tour operators in the first instance.
It is the second travel agents to close its doors in Bourne. In June, Harvey World Travel on the corner of West Street and North Street went into adminstration after Abta cancelled its membership for failing to provide company accounts.
