Treat for motor fans at transport show

CARS, caravans and military vehicles are among the treats on display for motor fans during a transport show.

Stamford Modified Vehicle Owners Club members have been putting on a show on the town’s Recreation Ground on Sunday as part of the festival for three years now.

But this year, members have decided to shake things up by not only opening up the event to modified cars but to also include vintage and working vehicles.

RAF Wittering will be supporting the event with a couple of vehicles plus vintage classic American and showman’s caravans will be appearing.

Cars of all shapes and sizes will also be a feature of the event along with modified vehicles.

The club is also hoping to include a bouncy castle and slot car racing for youngsters during the event along with trade stands.

Co-ordinator Dave Dorson is hoping to attract as many people as possible to the event. He said: “I would like people to really represent their hobby and prove to people that there is a lot of interest in transport.”

The event will be running from 11am to 4pm and there is no admission charge.

Anyone wishing to display their car in the show is asked to contact Dave on 07811 050074.

Owners are invited to turn up on the day but entries will be admitted on a first-come first served basis.
