Tributes have been paid to the group secretary of the National Farmers Union who died on Friday last week.
Robert Burns, who joined the Stamford and Rutland branch in 1996, was well known to all NFU members and his death has been greeted with great shock and sadness.
Ashley Oxer, Robert’s partner in the Stamford NFU Mutual agency, said: “Robert was such a well-respected, vibrant and happy man and will leave a hole in all our lives that will be impossible to fill.”
A service of thanksgiving will be held at All Saints’ Church, Red Lion Square, Stamford, on Tuesday, July 1 at 2.30pm. Donations will go to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
