A performer who reached the finals of a TV talent show hosted a dance masterclass at Rutland Dance Academy.

Lizzie Gough, who was a star on BBC show So You Think You Can Dance, gave pupils at the academy a lesson in urban dance techniques, such as locking, popping, lyrical hip hop and house dance.

Lizzie also toured with Take That and is teacher and choreographer for Alesha Dixon’s Street Dance Stars.

Sarah Bell, who runs the academy in Oakham and Uppingham, said: “The sessions were high paced and it was an incredibly valuable opportunity for young people to learn from someone so talented.

“The students all performed brilliantly and were completely in awe of Lizzie.”
