UPDATED: Is this a panther paw print?

DOES this paw print belong to a panther?

Businessman Leo Guilliano, of Barrowden Road, Ketton, who sent these pictures certainly thinks so. He believes a big cat may have been prowling in the village.

He was jogging in a farm field off Barrowden Road, Ketton on Friday June 13 when he spotted these large paw prints in a farm field of oil seed rape.

He said: "I know a former neighbour of mine said he had seen the panther in the village and after I saw this mark I belive there may be some truth in it."

Mr Guilliano put a ruler next to the suspected paw print to take these pictures. The ruler shows the marking in the ground to be about seven inches across.

Nigel Spencer, of Rutland and Leicestershire Panther Watch, said: "There have been a lot of sightings of the panther in that area but not recently."

Anyone who has spotted the Rutland panther should contact Mr Spencer at Panther Watch on 01664 454218.

Reference your story. Is this a panther paw print? It looks very much like a dog print.
