More than 300 classic cars are to go on show in Uppingham for the annual Stilton Cheese Classic Vehicle Run.

The town has been chosen as the starting point for the event which is being held on Sunday, April 27. It will raise funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The event has been organised to coincide with the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club’s annual Drive it Day, on which owners of classic vehicles are encouraged to take to the road.

The parade will also pass through Harringworth, Bulwick and Seaton before arriving at The Bell Inn in Stilton, Cambridgeshire.

This year’s event will also feature a number of electric vehicles on show in Uppingham later in the day as well as live music.

Last year’s show raised more than £1,600 for the air ambulance.

A road closure will be in place between 6am and 5pm in High Street and Market Place.

Registration for car owners takes place between 8am and midday on the day.

Entry is £2.50 per adult as well as a £2 charge per car to cover expenses. Booking must be made before April 14.
