Uppingham Fairtrade Steering Group launches online directory

A town has come a step closer to winning Fairtrade status with the launch of its online Fairtrade Directory.

Uppingham Fairtrade Steering Group has put together the directory which shows all the businesses and organisations in the town that offer Fairtrade goods for customers.

It was launched on Monday and the group hopes the action will help the Uppingham secure Fairtrade Town status.

Uppingham Fairtrade Steering Group chairman Marc Oxley said: “We are very pleased to be able to offer the people of Uppingham a list of all the businesses and organisations in the town who offer Fairtrade goods to their customers.

“We are also pleased to report that since the last Fairtrade Directory was published there has been a marked increase in the number of businesses in the town who are giving people the choice of buying Fairtrade goods.”

To view the online directory go to the Uppingham Town Partnership website at www.theuppinghamtownpartnership.org.uk
