Uppingham Rotary Club members were delighted to hear about the progress of a schools project in India that they have sponsored.

The Rasalpur project is a collaborative effort between Oakham School and the Doon School, one of India’s most prestigious, to build a local school in Rasalpur in an impoverished part of the country. They were joined by colleagues from the Rotary Club of Stamford Burghley for the evening.

The members were given a presentation by Anil Sarna, a teacher at Oakham School, and two pupils who had taken part in the project. The project has raised £13,000 from a variety of sources.
