A judo club which has members from across the region is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Vale Judo Club was established in 2003 and became a member of the British Judo Association.
It has grown to become the largest and one of the most successful judo clubs in the country, having won the British Judo Club of the Year award previously.
Classes are run locally in Oakham and Uppingham.
It offers recreational and competitive judo classes for all ages as well as helping develop the next generation of judo officials, coaches and referees.
More than 120 junior and senior members joined in the celebrations on Saturday last week, together with special visitor British Judo Association chairman Kerrith Brown.
Senior coach Mike Newton said: “It was a delight to see so many club members from our satellite clubs that had travelled to join in the celebration.
“The club was very grateful that Kerrith travelled to celebrate with us.
“The mat sessions were great fun and the kids and adults learnt a lot.”
