Video: Young musicians display ‘exceptional quality’

Waiting for Video...

Talented youngsters entertained audiences at the first round of the annual Young Musician of the Year Competition.

The event has been run by the Rotary Club of Rutland for 15 years and the winners go on to a national competition if they are successful at district level.

Adjudicator Ann Ward, former director of Leicestershire Specialist Music Course and chairman of Music in Lyddington, said: “The performances of all these young people were of exceptional quality and continue the tradition of excellence exhibited by Rutland’s young musicians.”

Winners will now compete in the district semi-final at St John’s School in Thrapston, Northamptonshire, on February 23.
