Women swing into action for charity

A CAPTAIN'S Day was held at Toft Hotel golf course raising £180 for charity.

More than 32 Toft Ladies enjoyed a club get-together organised by captain Mandy Lees in aid of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease on Wednesday.

The day went well despite the rain cutting short the afternoon’s play.

Mandy, 48, of Lound Road, Toft, said: “We only completed 16 out of 18 holes because of the rain, but it went extremely well.

“Everyone enjoyed it and the money will go to my chosen charity.

“I picked this particular one because someone in my family suffers from Crohn’s.”

After the event, they enjoyed a meal and presentations.

The association supports people suffering from inflamm-atory bowel disease such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. These are chronic diseases, where no immediate cure exists.
