Zebra crossing plan for Stamford road

THE county council is consulting on installing a zebra crossing in Empingham Road in Stamford.

If there are no objections to the consultation, the crossing is expected to be installed in April in Empingham Road close to its junctions with Scotgate and Casterton Road. It is part of Lincolnshire County Council's Community Travel Zones scheme.

The aim of the Community Travel Zones scheme is to cut the number of short car journeys made in the town.

The county council is currently preparing a report on where other schemes should be implemented. It carried out consultation in October asking where people thought the highest priority areas were.

People can view and comment on the crossing proposals at the district council offices in Maiden Lane.
