A group campaigning to build a new playground in Bourne received a welcome boost of £500 this week.

The Lodge of Aveland, which meets at the Masonic Centre in Roman Bank, Bourne, donated the money to Bourne2Play to help the group in its quest to revitalise the play areas on the Wellhead Park.

Lisa Copestake from the group said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Lodge of Aveland for their donation towards the improvement of the play park at the Wellhead. We could not do this community project without the generosity and support of local charities.”

Bourne2Play has a number of fundraising events planned in December and January. Visit www.facebook.com/wellheadplayparkbourne2play.

The Lodge is part of the Lincolnshire Province of Freemasons and the money donated is part of a total of £72,500 given this year to local charities and organisations throughout the county. This week it also donated £500 to the Evergreen Care Trust.
