A helicopter seen flying over Bourne for much of the morning has been checking for faults in the electricity lines.
The yellow Western Power Distribution helicopter was seen flying low over streets in Bourne this morning (Tuesday) causing residents to mistake the air craft for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
A spokesman from Western Power Distribution said the helicopter had been dispatched to check the lines following three intermittent faults in power to Deeping St James, Deeping St Nicholas and Crowland area last week.
The electricity company has been checking lines between Bourne, the Deepings and Spalding.
The air crew is able to check about 25km of lines each hour and report back for maintenance work to be carried out.
The checks are scheduled to be completed today.
