YOUNGSTERS got moving on the dance floor to raise funds for charity.

Malcolm Sargent Primary School held two discos in aid of the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association, raising more than £450.

The pupils and staff at the school, in Empingham Road, Stamford, presented members of the charity, as well as Lance Corporal Cassidy Little, an injured Royal Marine and a member of the school’s parents and teachers association, with a cheque on Friday last week.

The association helps former and serving members of the armed forces and their families or dependants.

Charity press officer Linda Shortland said: “The students have made an exceptional effort to raise this generous amount of money.”
