STAFF and customers at a supermarket have been saving up their pennies to help raise money for a dementia charity.
Over a six week period £1,099 was raised at the Anglia Co-operative foodstore in Godsey Lane, Market Deeping as part of the shop’s Pick Up A Penny campaign, where the store gave 1p for every till receipt collected.
The money was presented to Dementia Support South Lincs which helps more than 160 families from the Deepings, Stamford and Bourne.
Chairman Heather Gilling said: “We thank the store and its customers from the bottom of our hearts. The latest cheque represents one-tenth of what we have to raise each year to keep our services going and we really appreciate what they have done.”
