A FACTORY in Oakham is set to close, leaving 30 people out of work.
Alternator firm Markon Sawafuji in Lands’ End Way will close in April.
The company, which is a joint venture between Cummins in Stamford and Sawafuji in Japan, was created 10 years ago.
A spokesman said it has not dominated the market in the way it had intended. Production will be moved to Mexico and Japan.
Cummins is due to pull out by the end of the week and Sawafuji will move out of the factory in April.
The site is currently for sale.
Staff are currently being offered counselling and advice on applying for new jobs.
