A COLLAPSED marquee did not stop residents of Southfields, Bourne, from putting on a jubilee party.

Young and old joined together to celebrate the Queen’s 60th year on the throne on the street’s open space today (Sunday).

Organisers Lyn and Tony Douglas-Beveridge put on a full spread of food and there were games and face-painting for the children.

Neighbours rallied round to help after wind cause a marquee to collapse and by 4pm almost the whole street was braving the rain with smiles on their faces.
