MORE than 80 pupils performed during a marvellous morning of music.

Copthill School in Uffington played host to pupils from Stamford primaries St Gilbert’s, Malcolm Sargent and Stamford Junior School, as well as Uffington Primary School, Barnack Primary School and Witham Hall School.

The Come and Play Wind instruments event was organised by the Stamford Music Teacher’s Forum, which is made up of a group of specialist music teachers who aim to create opportunities for talented young musicians to play.

Julie Digby, who is head of the forum, said: “There was a great feeling of excitement and joy of musical endeavour throughout the activities and the children showed great enthusiasm in their music making, as they confidently performed the pieces they had practised to parents and friends.”
