Matt Hampson evening in Greetham raises more than £1,000

A CHARITY evening to support injured sports players was a huge success.

Sue and Merv Bamber of Main Street, Greetham, hosted “An Evening with Matt Hampson” at Greetham Community Centre on Saturday night and raised £1,000 for the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Matt attended the evening to talk to people about the foundation and to sell copies of his book “Engage: The Fall and Rise of Matt Hampson” which raised a further £200.

Matt was paralysed from the neck down after a scrum collapsed on him in training for the England U21s in 2005 and he now dedicates his time to helping others injured in sporting accidents.
